Word to prom

For lack of original material, I’m just going to post what I said on my livejournal.

Jumping on the trampoline in my dress… all the proper ladies do it.

This picture shows the sparklies in the side… my favorite part.

My whole big group. Aren’t we pretty? I think my friend Julie (blonde girl, blue dress) looked the best.

Despite having no date, I got two boys to dance with me. My friend Andrew and I had a big laugh dancing to “Let’s Get It On.” Bahahahahaha.

There was a girl there who had a dress especially made to look like the yellow dress that Kate Hudson wore in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. The dress looked remarkably similar. But she was no Kate Hudson, and it made me chuckle a little bit.

Yes, so prom is over. Sad. But school is almost over too. Speaking of, I’m really excited to watch the prom episode of Everwood tonight. I wish I had a Promebago with Bright Abbott in it. That would make my day, or my year for that matter.

Word to cicadas

This is soooo gross. I totally remember the last time the cicadas came. I specifically remember when we had P.E. class and were outside playing softball. I hit a few with the plastic bat. Good times.

Updates galore:
I reviewed The Girl Next Door, Pieces of April, and The Prince & Me. I added 4 new wallpapers to Under My Thumb, including one of The Girl Next Door. I also updated the links page.

More movies I want to see, because I left some out.
Man on Fire | “Anyone gets in my way, I’m gonna kill ‘em.” Oooh… I get chills when I see this trailer. Denzzzzelllllllll.
The Notebook | guhhhhhh. Nicholas Sparks. That man bleeds cheese. But the good kind. Not the spray kind from a can. And I don’t care what anyone else says… Ryan Gosling is hot.
The Village | Joaquin Phoenix and Adrien Brody in a film by M. Night Shyamalan. I’m there!
Intermission | It’s supposed to be a Love, Actually for people who like to have sex, drink, and smoke a whole lot. Sounds like my kind of movie.
Princess Diaries 2 | Doesn’t come out for a while, but I’m very excited that Callum Blue is in it. I watched his TV movie “In Love in War” earlier this year, and he is verrryyyyyy good-looking.

Word to movies

I love movies. More importantly, I love movie trailers. Sometimes, well, most of the time I like the trailer better than the actual movie. But here’s an overview of the trailers that make me want to see the whole movie as well.

New York Minute | okay, you caught me. I like the Olsen twins. Make fun of me as you wish.

Napoleon Dynamite | hey! It’s that little girl from Andre. Tina something-or-other.
The Day After Tomorrow | Jake Gyllenhaal! Jake Gyllenhaal!
Garden State | who doesn’t want to see this movie? How in the world do they expect me to wait until July 30th?
Mean Girls | Lindsay Lohan mixed with gratuitous high school fun. Shouldn’t Lacey Chabert be almost 30 now…?
Valetin | oh my goodness, that little boy is too cute for words.
The Punisher | okay, Thomas Jane is 10x hotter with the darker hair and all the black clothes. And Tucker from Flash Forward has a bunch of piercings. Nice.

Word to pimps

According to Jay-Z, I’m a pimp too! Sweet. Casually brushes the dirt off her shoulders…

So I had the best weekend ever. I saw The Prince & Me (bleh, but my mum paid so it’s all good), 13 Going on 30 (I cried), and The Girl Next Door (sooooooo good). I’ve already enlisted my friend Alyssa to go see it again this weekend.

After seeing all those movies this weekend, I’m feeling a bit irked by the music choices. Both The Prince & Me and 13 Going on 30 utilized Michelle Branch’s “Breathe” in their trailers, as most movies do contain a Michelle Branch song in there somewhere. And why do people insist on using Liz Phair’s “Why Can’t I?” in every damn movie. I cannot express in words how much I dislike this song. I need to get a job as a music coordinator for movies so that there is actual variation in the songs you hear in movies.

But with all that said, The Girl Next Door had kickass music choices. I squeed when they played “The Killing Moon” by Echo & The Bunnymen and “Teenage Wasteland” by The Who. And having “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” in the commercials was just the icing on the cake.

Word to me

I just uploaded a whole new about me section. I know you probably don’t care, but I tried to make it entertaining. So what are you waiting for… go now!

I also reviewed Something’s Gotta Give, Enemy at the Gates, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Le Divorce.

…and the new season of The Bachelor starts tonight. Seeing as he’s only 25, the girls will probaby be younger and less mature. Which means… more drama. Yessssss.
