Tell me something I don’t know

It’s times like these I wish I had set myself up one of those linkroll things. But meh, it’s just not my style. Anyhow, here we go.

Ryan Adams has a meltdown at concert.

Hey, at least he doesn’t have Howie Day-esque meltdowns. And really, do I expect anything less than typical “rock and roll” behavior from Ryan Adams?

My favorite part of this article is the quote from Neal Casal. “I don’t know what the story was, I just play guitar.”

100 Movies in 2007: Rapid Fire 3

Me and You and Everyone We KnowI really want to get back to writing reviews of the movies I have been seeing but the list of 20 or so that I’ve neglected has been deterring me. So here we go, 20 movie reviews, one sentence each.

  1. Starter for 10
James McAvoy was good as was the 80’s setting.
  2. Year of the Dog
Cute, but never really went anywhere.
  3. Spider-Man 3
The only part I liked was Topher Grace.
  4. In the Line of Fire
    Clint Eastwood rocks my world.
  5. Waitress
    Nathan Fillion rocks my world.
  6. Me and You and Everyone We Know
Really great, different kind of movie.
  7. In the Bedroom
Stylish, but I didn’t love it; Little Children was better.
  8. Taxi Driver
De Niro was good, maybe even great.
  9. Knocked UpDeath at a Funeral
Lived up to my expectations but didn’t surpass them.
  10. Fracture
Standard thriller with an above average twist and ending.
  11. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Was disappointing in 3D, but good otherwise.
  12. Live Free or Die Hard
Brucey sure upped the ante on this one.
  13. Paris, je T’Aime
Cool concept and interesting to watch, but definitely a rental.
  14. Transformers
Was a good popcorn movie but I don’t see how they can make more than one; also, Shia!
  15. Rescue Dawn
Good but not great, but still pretty good; had some boring parts.
  16. Superbad
Much like Knocked Up, didn’t “wow” me, but still had some great jokes.
  17. Death at a Funeral
Loved this, mostly for Alan Tudyk; also Matthew Macfadyen is still pretty despite putting on “daddy” weight.
  18. Empire of the Sun
Really good but also really long.
  19. I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry
Definitely not as bad as I thought it would be, but Adam Sandler definitely peaked with Big Daddy.
  20. The Nanny Diaries
It was nice to watch Chris Evans for 1.5 hours, and that’s pretty much the nicest thing I can say.

Oh you know me

I am seriously not feeling school right now.  All I do it sit around and try to figure out whether I can graduate early or not.  My advisor never emails me back, so I’ve been wanting to talk to someone else in the department so I can start planning around when I’m going to graduate, but I feel like they would try to talk me out of it or something.  Silly, I know.

I’m also noticing my friends growing tired with me.  I know the summer is over, but no one is responding to any of the communications I make.  I don’t remember the last time I was this frustrated.  Makes me want to dedicate the chorus of Damien Rice’s “Rootless Tree” to the lot of them.  But I hope that feeling passes.

I’m a New Jersey success story

Could it possibly be October already? That would be great.

The new Jimmy Eat World album comes out in October. As does the EP from Matchbox 20. It’s a great month for generic mainstream rock music! Huzzah!

Not to mention The Complete First Season of The Secret World of Alex Mack.  Remember how kick ass the special effects were?  That big puddle of silvery goo that she used to travel around as… nobody would notice that!
You guys having a good weekend?

Delicious Mexican Food

Hi my name is Emma, and I’m an addict.

… of Mexican food.  Seriously friends, stop calling me up to go out to get delicious Mexican food!  I do so well on my own but cannot resist such a tempting offer.

Thank goodness I dieted for 2 out of 3 meals today.
